The Truth of Socialism on the Little Screen

Think about what is pictured here, is your security really worth giving up your freedoms?

We know socialism fails. The question remains if citizens will believe the lying politicians and vote for socialism anyway. The media won’t tell you these truths, so here is the truth about socialism laid bare before us in Venezuela.

Why Encourage Recreational Marijuana?

I ran across the 10 Blocks podcast and wanted to post the podcast and my comment:

What I heard is that once again Social Justice Warriors have tried to fix a situation that isn’t broken and made things worse as a result. Marijuana use is detrimental when it is overused and overuse is very easy to accomplish, leading me to believe that legalization or even decriminalization is a bad idea. The drive to decriminalize or legalize marijuana use will do little on the political/social arena but create further damage to the fabric of society Why is there such a drive to destroy or damage the fabric of society? I really have to question the ulterior motives of the people and organizations involved in this movement. I have not even touched on the self harm that smoking marijuana may cause and am speaking only on the political level. Legalization will do little more than damage  that which holds us together, that seems to be the endgame to all this, why are we helping unknown people pulling the strings to do this? I will never support legalization and neither should you in my opinion.

The Socialists Got What They Wanted..and the Republicans Gave it to Them

This is a severe problem that must be solved, the Republican Party has to grow a backbone. They are much to prone to buckle to Democratic Progressive/socialist demands and fracture the Constitution rather than stand their ground and argue the facts and principles of the situation.

Government is more intrusive and more expensive than ever. Obama made law with his phone and his pen by issuing executive orders. Fortunately, President Trump has reversed many of these orders. Trump also restricted the federal bureaucracy.. when it was politically convenient to do so. Unfortunately, Trump also used the bureaucracy to do the dirty political work that legislators wanted to avoid. That leaves all of us at risk.

The latest example is the  firearm accessory called a bump stock. The murderer who killed 59 people at the concert in Las Vegas had a bump stock on some of his guns. Neither the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) nor the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) said that those bump-stock-equipped weapons were used in the attack, but the news media ran with the story of “deadly bump stocks.” That story became political reality.

House and Senate legislators caved…

Science, Fantasy, and Superstition- Gun-Control Fails the Evidence Test

Some food for thought, why do people hate to be free?

I’ve watched gun-control advocates slide down the slippery slope. At first, their spokesmen said gun-control was simply common sense. Unfortunately for them, each gun-control law is a claim that can be tested. Instead of changing their beliefs as we learned more, gun-control advocates simply chanted their old arguments louder and longer. Gun-control must have saved one life somewhere, they claimed. Eventually, the gun control-talking-heads had to turn their eyes away from the facts and ignore the damage they caused. For our part, we passed gun control laws because they felt good rather than did good. Like many public policy issues, we think we’re talking about evidence when we’re really discussing how we feel.

Superstition is holding an unjustified belief because of the way it makes us feel. It is easy to think we’re too sophisticated to have superstitious beliefs. Fortunately for us, evidence is one of the best tests to…

Disarming the Defenders- Socialist Politicians Sacrifice our Children in “Gun-Free” Zones

This country is sliding into tyranny, anarchy or hot civil war and we are now in what I would call a cold civil war and I don’t know which of the three will win out in the end because civil war could lead to the first two much easier than a restoration of a free Republic. I only regret that I currently live in a nursing home with a debilitating balance issue that renders me useless to fight if a Second Civil War breaks out, it may end up as bloody or even worse than the War Between The States. These are not pleasant thoughts for a Friday night.

Professor Thomas Sowell said it is dangerous to let people make decisions when they are immune from the consequences. That describes the school board in Baltimore, Maryland as well as other Maryland politicians. Their self-serving political decisions will get out kids hurt and killed. When that happens, these politicians will blame us and demand more political control over our lives. They will probably be re-elected after their policies fail.

I say this because the Baltimore School Board voted unanimously to disarm law enforcement officers on school grounds. That makes the officers easier victims for gang attacks. It leaves all the students at greater risk. It also lets Maryland politicians signal their virtue as they throw hate on cops.

I suspect the school board in Baltimore has already acted like the notorious school board in Parkland, Florida. I suspect they refused to prosecute and remove violent students. I know the Parkland…

Universal Background Checks Don’t Work, so Why Do We Want More of Them?

I have no problems with a NICS check at the local Gun Store, but after three days if the government can’t back up their denial the sale goes through. If later it is found to be in error, either reclaim the weapon or swear out a warrant from the bench. This system will break down occasionally but no system run by humans is ever going to be perfect.
There is evil in the heart of every man and anyone who doubts this is either a fool or a Progressive. You are never going to be able to design a background check system that is both convenient and effective. The more effective it is will make it much less convenient for the typical law abiding citizen who doesn’t want to wait thirty days to be able to pick up his sixth handgun, made even more silly by the fact he has has his concealed carry permit for twenty years and has permit number 3! He should be able to walk in and then walk right back out with his weapon of choice by virtue of being a member of one of the most law abiding groups in the country, concealed carry permit holders. This seems like common sense gun control to me.

I’ve made mistakes before and I’ll probably make some again. That is why it’s important to be aware and skeptical as we try new ideas. There is a time for persistence and a time to ask if you’re headed in the right direction. All that came to mind as I read about the US House of Representatives proposing universal background checks for firearms owners. These background checks have failed too many times to try them again.

The fundamental failure of a background check is that it looks backward. Mass murder is not a long-term career path. Background checks do nothing to stop a first-time mass murderer. Here are the most recent examples.

  • The mass murderer who killed 12 people at a country western bar in Thousand Oaks, California passed his background checks..several times.
  • The mass murderer who killed 11 people in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania synagogue passed his background checks…

The Sick Disease That Murders Our Kids at School

The title of this post is the title of the article posted and linked to below and what you are about to read will make more sense if you read the post from the Slow Facts Blog first. He has written a good piece and I posted a comment to his post and want to expand on what I said in my comment.

The publicity may play a part in what has created the mass murderer/school shooter  and you have given a pretty good argument for your cause and I think you have a partial answer, but only a partial one. The larger part of what is missing are things like the Pledge of Allegiance every morning, I have been told it is a rarity in schools now days. The reciting of that pledge as well as the singing of the National Anthem helped me grow a love for this country, are kids being given a love for this country in school today? I am amazed to read that it is now possible to graduate from college with a bachelors degree and never have taken an American History class in your life. I read this in an online article written by a parent amazed at his child’s non-exposure to American history. I am afraid I do not have a citation for this article since I found it unbelievable upon first reading and had to read it several times to verify my understanding of what was being said at the time.

The onslaught against religion and morality in the public square is well known and documented by by the MSM. Do I have to talk about the other entertainment outlets discharging(as in sewer) filth into society? What passes for music is far more explicit than what was allowed in even the earlier years of my life. These things as well as many others were and are the fabric that holds society together, this fabric has been under attack by the political left for most of the last fifty years and the attacks are increasing with smaller and smaller amounts of time passing between attacks. Why do many on the right as well as the left attack this Republic and the principles it was founded upon for a globalist or socialist agenda that has never been shown to work better than the Capitalist Republic we had in the past?

In closing I cannot imagine a healthy society where a mother considers it a right to be able to kill her own offspring, yet that is considered by some to actually be healthcare! I am of the opinion that the young people of today don’t value life very highly because they have not lived enough of life to realize just how precious a thing it is and the older folks do a very poor job of showing them. How high a price can you set when it can be destroyed for the price of an abortion and we spend time in our schools teaching them to be pro-choice, that they only exist because their parents allowed them to continue existing and being able to snuff out the life of their children is a positive thing? What kind of self-worth are we giving them in that situation? We need to start repairing the fabric of society while we still have a society to repair, it will be to late when the socialist/globalist’s have already taken over. VOTE! while you still can vote for a non-socialist or globalist candidate.

I’m a consumer of news just like you are. After each mass murder, the news media shouts that attacks on our schools and churches are a growing epidemic. “Experts” appear on the news and tell us to turn in our guns to make America safer. Once we read past the headlines, then we can see that the media might not be interested in the truth. We are building mass murderers here in the US, and the news media is complicit in killing our kids.

It is easy to blame guns, but that doesn’t explain why we have mass murder today. Guns were far easier to get 50 years ago. They were also far more common. You could buy a gun at a gas station or at a hardware store back then. Children, even kids in New York City, brought their guns to school,..yet we didn’t see mass murder like we…

Israel Belongs To The Jewish People

I write this because of the absurdity of considering the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement for the Nobel Peace Prize. I cannot fathom how such a violent, hate filled and unreasonable group can even be spoken of in the same sentence except as a contrast to the peace prize. When I read that someone in the Norwegian Parliament had nominated them I wondered how they could even explain the logic of such a move? I soon found out. In the interests of full disclosure I am an American of a more right wing and conservative viewpoint so have a hard time understanding the logic of the European Left. I will quote from Bjørnar Moxnes press release:

As a member of the Norwegian parliament, I proudly use my authority as an elected official to nominate the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian rights for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Nominating the BDS movement for this recognition is perfectly in line with the principles I and my party hold very dear. Like the BDS movement, we are fully committed to stopping an ascendant, racist and right-wing politics sweeping too much of our world, and securing freedom, justice and equality for all people. . . .

Where should I start in refuting what he says? I don’t disagree with the fact that as a member of the Norwegian Parliament he can nominate them or that it may be in line with his principles to do so, but from there we disagree completely.

That Israel is a growing and thriving democracy but how can you call Israel racist? The BDS movement is comprised of people who refuse to acknowledge the right of Israel to exist! I don’t think you can be anymore racist then that! I can speak to and discuss the politics of the left and do not simply dismiss them due to that fact until you get to the extreme left but again, in the interests of full disclosure I don’t deal well with the ideas of the far right either. I would consider myself far right centerist. I am deeply concerned about the legitimacy that would be given to the BDS movement by this award. The fact that he opposes something simply because it is right-wing is telling about his politics. I want to just comment about the last part of what I quoted by asking a question. How can you talk about seeking “freedom, justice and equality” if you refuse to acknowledge your opponents right to exist? This doesn’t seem very equal to me! I don’t think their is much justice in their position either. I am not welded to the idea of a two state solution unless both sides are committed to the safety and security of each other and right now I don’t think either side will really commit to that situation.

I ask that you go to the web site of an organization called United With Israel and go to there Calls To Action page and read more about this situation and make your voice be heard with theirs and hopefully many others. Trust me on this, NO true Christian believer wants to take the Holy Land from the Jewish People, they are G-ds Chosen People and that has not and will not ever change. Jesus Christ was a Jew and he was arrested after observing Passover. The Early people in the Christian Church still worshiped in the synagogues. I am just a simple believer and have no fancy theological degrees but do know deep in my heart that Israel is the land of the Jewish people and NO ONE should be trying to take it away from them. How much do I believe it you ask? If I wasn’t 58 years old and didn’t have a moderate to severe disability I would join the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) to fight for Israel. I do know that I can write and speak and will do so as long as I can to help both the Jewish people and the Nation Of Israel, who are so closely intertwined that is probably more correct to speak of them as halves of one thing. That is my view of the situation.

Trump’s Decision Is Right!

The nation of Israel has endured a constant onslaught since it was created by a UN resolution in 1948. Their capital is Jerusalem and has been for years, they are to my knowledge the only nation that has had their selected capital not recognized by other nations. Israel is the ONLY Jewish state in the world, and why can’t they set there own rules for who is a citizen? I find the hypocrisy of the world toward Israel and their ability to make normal decisions about their own sovereignty is reprehensible and needs to change, Trump did change something, he recognized Israel’s right to select it’s own capital. The two state solution will never work until the Palestinians are willing to recognize Israels right to exist! There are a few who don’t believe in a two state solution and think a single secular democratic state is the only solution. The secular democratic state is nothing more than the elimination of a Jewish state and the Palestinian’s cherished main goal!

I do not understand why there is such a blind spot in most people that seems unwilling to recognize reality when it comes to Israel. There is a cliche that bears repeating: If Israel laid down it’s arms they would be destroyed, If the Arabs laid down their arms there would be peace! There is one other thing that must be mentioned, How can there be peace in the Middle East if as a matter of policy the Palestinian Authority does not yet recognize Israel’s right to exist! Until they are willing to recognize Israel’s right to exist there can be no peace. Until people are willing, like President Trump Wednesday, to recognize reality, there won’t be a long lasting peace in the Middle East. Meanwhile, my Granddaughter needs to remember the correct capital of Israel, Jerusalem!
